P.S. I can't wait for my family to move to Idaho and be close to me....I am spreading the news to all now, so it isn't a shock when the time comes!!

New News

Well, again, it has been a while since my last post, but here are some updates!

We moved into a new apartment at the beginning of June. We are all settled in, except for a few things that we have NO idea where to put. Ellie (our puppy) was quite confused and didn't know where we were. Actually one time when we drove by our old apartment, she whined for a bit. I think she wanted to go "home". Poor dog. She is doing well now though. The apartment is a two bedroom and has a lot more room in it. We have our own washer and dryer as well, which I LOVE! The apartment complex also has a dog field which is nice, we just take her over there and lock the gate and she just runs and plays.

Jake has been working a ton (which is good cause we need the money). He was working here in town (Idaho Falls), but just today was transferred back to Rexburg to work on the BYU-Idaho buildings. He starts at ISU at the end of this month. I think he is excited. He just bought tickets to go to 2 BYU games this fall as well, and he can't wait! His birthday is coming up (so is yours mom!) It is September 4th, Nana's birthday. He says he "feels so old" because he is going to be 23! Haha I just told him to wait til he turns 30, then he will be complaining that he is not 23! (which his oldest brother Jason just turned 30!) He started growing his hair out since the wedding and it got really long! A little past his eyes. Well yesterday, he decided he was going to cut it for me. HE IS SO HOTT! I love his short hair! He told me he was in the bathroom thinking to himself how he forgot how good he looks with short hair. Haha, it is so true though! :)

I am in the middle of transferring to Idaho State University, I have pretty much finished getting everything sent. Just waiting for one final thing to get there. Hopefully it'll be soon. Jake and I were thinking about what in the world we were going to do with our dog, and we decided I would try to get classes here in Idaho Falls (because ISU has a campus here) so that I can be in town and come home and make sure she doesn't chew everything and go potty in my house! I am excited. I also have been looking for a job since...May/June. It is so hard to find one! I have been to over 30 places, and still...Nothing. I got an offer at a daycare, but then the lady never called, so when I called her she just said that she didn't need me because the girl she was going to fire "got her act together" and she said she'd call me back that following week to let me know if anything would open, but no phone call. Oh well. She doesn't seem to reliable. Hopefully I will get one soon!!!
Ellie is just being a puppy. She gets super rowdy before bed. It gets kind of annoying and funny at the same time. She just runs all over the apartment like a pyscho dog jumping on everything! She is so fast too! Then a few minutes later she crashes. She is so fun though. She hates baths, but she loves to roll around in puddles and mud. I don't get it. It makes it so difficult because I have to bath her practically every day because she ends up dirty all the time! But she is a doll. I don't think I could ever give her up! We have been thinking of getting another one, but realized we probably shouldn't. Although we think she would love to have a puppy to mother. If we did we'd have to pay extra, and we don't want to do that.

We tried a kitten. She was ADORABLE!! She was black with a tiny bit of white just like Ellie. She was so sweet and cuddly. She would climb up my leg to my shoulders and sit under my chin (when I was standing). And when I was lying down she would sleep under my chin. It was so fetchin cute! Except Ellie was jealous and didn't like the idea of not getting all the attention. She tried eating her a few times (well, she just snapped at her and what not), so we decided for the safety of the kitten, and both of their personalities, we gave her back to the humane society where we got her. I go visit her sometimes. She just sleeps in the cage with her brother. I haven't been in a while though.

We signed Ellie up for an obedience class. We had one class already. It is fun. She is so funny with the other dogs. She is the biggest on there, except 2 of them are gonna get bigger (German Shephard and Huskie). She just goes crazy with all the dogs around. She was really hyper at first, but after a bit she was being the best behaved. I am excited for this class. It'll be fun! :) She does really well with commands. We started her WAY earlier on sit. She has that one down, except when she gets excited about being around other people/dogs. Haha, then she has ADD and doesn't listen.

Jake and I went to Vegas at the end of July for Jolynn Wolford's Wedding! It was so fun! We drove down Thursday and got there late that night (with quite a few stops on the way). It was so fun seeing Sherrie and Dwayne, and Danny! He is so big! We then spent Friday on the strip just site seeing! It was beautiful, and REALLY HOT! 112 degrees every day we were there! (and in the 90's at night!) We did some shopping and lots of walking, then ate at Planet Hollywood. Then we went back to the Wolford's for a nap and to rest a bit. When it started getting dark out we went back to the strip to see the Bellagio at night. That was fun. We walked around for a bit longer and even went to Circus Circus and road the rollercoaster.

The next day was Jolynn's wedding, which was BEAUTIFUL! We were there til about 3 or 4 and then it was over, so Jake and I headed back to the strip. We ate at ESPN zone and walked around some more. I got a Hooters shirt for my collection, and an apron! It's funny. Saturday night I was looking for the larger garbage can to put our stack of garbage from the truck, and when I was leaving the garage, I opened the door and (NO JOKE) 5-7 inches away from my face was a spider about as big as the palm of my hand sitting on the wall. It started to crawl, I screamed and ran in to the house. I locked the door and freaked out that maybe it was on me. Jake just laughed. No one could find it the next day, but I swear on EVERYTHING it was there!

After struggling to get to sleep because of that MONSTER, Sunday morning came and we woke up about 9. got dressed, said our goodbyes and headed back home. It was nice being home again. It always is nice to come back to my home and my own bed. :) I definitely cannot wait to go back though!

Bored

So I have been attempting to get my homework done since 12:30 this afternoon and just barely finished the homework I have for my second class. I don't know what it is, but today I am just in such a lazy bored mood. I think it is because yesterday we thought we had stake conference, and then at 9:30 (having church at 11 or stake conference at 10) we found out we had regular church. Jake and I were looking forward to not having to teach and just being able to relax. So I didn't get that opportunity and now my body and mind are fighting me! It is quite difficult. I guess I just need to rest. But I still have to finish my math homework. Ugh. Boriinnngg!! Jake isn't even helping me, he is just sleeping! I wish I would have been able to concentrate better and get it done before now so I could fall asleep before 9:30!!! That would be so amazing! I am so unbelievably tired! Anywho. Must be off...fun fun! :)

New . . .

Well I decided to change something else about my hair. I GOT BANGS!!! Well those side bangs. I like them a lot! (Although I can't get a good picture of them!)
What do you think!?
The only thing is they keep getting in my eyes which is quite difficult for me! I do love them though. It is a love hate relationship!

Jake and I also have a new addition to our family...!!! Ellie! The cutest puppy ever!
She is 5 months old, and is a black lab border collie mix. We went to PetCo and the Humane Society was there with some dogs and cats. It was quite sad. I wanted to take them all home with me! There was a dog there with 3 legs. I wanted to cry, it was the first time I saw that in person. :( Tears...But there were two puppies, Ellie and Bob. Brother and sister.

It was sad having to separate them, but we didn't think 2 dogs would be good! Haha. One is enough. She is a great puppy! She is so calm. If we aren't playing with her, she sits there and sleeps or just watches. She follows us EVERYWHERE! Every time we move an inch she looks up to see where we are going and she moves that inch too. She is so sweet! She loves to do puppy things, but is so mellow it is amazing! I am so happy we got her! She is just so adorable!! :D

Britney Spears Concert

Well Jake bought me those Britney Spears tickets for my birthday...and FINALLY the concert came!! YAY! It was in Salt Lake City at the energy solutions arena...ROAD TRIPP!!!! (okay its a 3.5 hour drive...but its the most he will drive!)

Well we took a half day off from work and left around one thirty or so. I drove the whole way to SLC. On our way we stopped in Pocatello for a quick bite at Red Lobster (because it is his favorite and that is the closest one to us). The drive was quiet because he brought his Harry Potter books and read the whole way while I listened to my Britney Spears cd (AMAZING!)
This is me before the Pussycat Dolls came on stage...!
We got to SLC and we were quite early so we drove up by the capitol building to see the HUGE houses up there! They were gorgeous! (They had no backyards and were on the hill/cliff but they were still beautiful!) Because the hill was so steep I made Jake drive cause I was too scared. Then we went and found a parking spot and got our seats. Anxiously I waited. It was fun people watching. There were some odd people let me tell you, but it is a Britney concert. Haha.

The concert started at 8:00 with the Pussycat Dolls. They were awesome too! They danced quite a bit and had really good voices. I like them a lot too so it was nice that they were opening for Britney! Both are in my top 10!

After their show we watched some "circus acts" because that is the theme of Britney's newest album. That was way awesome. There were some amazing scary acts! It was way fun cause I haven't been to a circus (well that I can remember).

Britney came on and sang and danced the ENTIRE TIME! She never stopped. And she changed her outfit like 12 times! Crazy. When she would go change they would have more circus acts. It was way cool. The crowd kept screaming everytime she left, and they'd scream louder when she would come back. I almost went deaf cause on top of that the music was SOOO loud.

After the show we walked out and still had to scream to talk because our ears were half broken! Haha. We got to our car and began our drive home. We stopped to get gas and food in Ogden and then headed off. I fell asleep quite soon...sorry Jake. About an hour into our drive Jake couldn't stay awake so we pulled over to a rest stop and he slept. He wanted to sleep for 30 mins, but it turned into 2 hours. Haha. We finally left again and arrived home at 4:30am. I finally went to bed at 5:00am and we didn't wake up until 1:00pm that day!

It was an amazing trip and an amazing concert! I wanted to get a T-shirt, but they were $30 or more, and we are broke. It was way fun though and I didn't want it to end! :( Sad. Maybe I will get the chance to go to another...!??? :D

Moving??

Well I finished another semester...well half semester...at BYU-Idaho! It was pretty relaxing and nice to get some credits and be able to work too. Now I am hopefully going back full time. If I can get classes. But Jake transferred to Idaho State University (ISU). He will be attending there this summer for about 2 months (it does have a better medical program). That will be nice for him to go back to school too. Except we are definitely going to go broke! Haha.

ISU is in Pocatello which is about 45 minutes away from where we live, and BYUI is about 30 minutes away, in the opposite direction. Hmmm. Therefore, I believe I am going to transfer to ISU as well! And then when we both start school again this fall, we are looking into moving to Pocatello. That way we won't have to travel so much. Jakes dad has some work there for Jake, and I can just try to find a job there too.

I am kind of excited for both of us to start school and our lives. It gets kind of boring coming home from work and sitting around for hours, which causes us to go to bed by 9:00. Probably part of my troubles falling asleep! It will definitely mean our "honeymoon" period is over! :( sad.

Troubles Sleeping

Well things have been great, except the fact that I CANNOT sleep at night! I don't know what it is. I usually have the blankets tucked all nice, but for some reason .... cough cough jake cough cough .... they come undone every night and it drives me crazy!

The first time I remember it happening it actually was very unpleasant! I had the worst nightmare ever. It was weird and made no sense, and apparently I was crying in my sleep. Jake woke me up, and I felt like there was the most evil spirit around me. I wanted to curl up and cry. Jake helped me to calm down (of course we said a prayer to get rid of that nasty feeling, it helped a ton!) and then I was able to fall back asleep.

The other night my mind was going crazy! I was replaying my day at work in my head (as a dream) for some reason, and I was going over the names and numbers which caused me to wake up! Of course, I can't stop thinking about it when I wake up either! I try everything there is, but for some reason I just can't sleep! Until I wake up at 5:45 to make Jakes lunch for the day and then go back to bed for an hour until I get up for work. That one hour I can sleep perfect. I have no idea what it is all about, but I REALLY DON'T like it! Not one bit!

I try taking melatonin at night so I can sleep through it, but for some reason my legs get so antsy that I wake up around the same time every night. And because the covers are all messy, I can't ever go back to sleep!

Of course the Melatonin doesn't work either. But my oh so sweet and caring husband (who I wake up every night with my spazy legs and constant tossing and turning) takes care of me. The other night he massaged my head so I would relax right before I fell asleep. That was the first time in a LONG time that I slept through the night. And then last night when I woke up in the middle of the night he massaged my head and legs again. It was so sweet! (I don't think he remembers it too much though, which makes it so much sweeter!) I love him. . .!

If you have any ideas of how I can possibly relax my mind and body before bed so I can sleep through the night, please, let me know! I am DYING to know! (Mostly because I feel bad I keep waking up Jake every night, and most the time I end up leaving and going to the couch so he can get his rest and not be tired at work!)

I would LOVE to be able to sleep like a baby again...!

Updates

Well it has been quite a while since there has been an update on Jake and I. So here it is...

First, we got back from our FANTASTIC honeymoon, and finished moving in to our new apartment! It is kind of small, but WAY cute! And we both did a good job at decorating it! (Although there are a lot less walls than we thought!) We had our reception here and of course got more things!! We got through all our gifts and still are waiting on our thank you cards so we can send those out...(SORRY GUYS!!) We still also have to go through pictures so we can get some more for the cute frames we got!

For our honeymoon we went to the Caribbean! It was BEAUTIFUL! I was so in love with it all! We went to Cayaman Islands, Cozumel, Belize, and Roatan Honduras. (My favorite was the last one!) But I really did love them all! We swam with stingrays and dolphins, we went kayaking in Belize, fourwheeling to mayan caves in cozumel, and of course enjoyed ALL the beaches!!!! They were all so beautiful! The water in Honduras was the best though! The shopping in Mexico was so much fun! They were all gorgeous lands with the NICEST people ever! Honestly, if you ever have the chance to go, DO IT! DO NOT pass it up! It is so amazing! The boat was fun too! We had medicine so we didn't get seasick, and even though we spent a lot of time on the boat, they had fun things for us to do and lots of food! We mostly slept and ate on the boat! Haha. But they have movies on TV all the time too! I really really enjoyed it and would definitely LOVE to go on another!
It was fun having my family out here too! They stayed for a little less than a week, but got to see where I live, go to school, and got to spend time with me! I really enjoyed it a lot! We went shopping, out to eat, and went through pictures of the reception in NJ. I can't wait till they come again!
Jake is working for his dad still. Not taking any classes, but depending on how much money we get saved up he just may start a few online classes this summer, and then starts school full time again in the fall. He doesn't enjoy getting up at 5:30am, but he does it. (So do I!) He works all day and is home by 6:00pm (ish) and then lays down for the rest of the night, except to eat dinner. He is still deciding on what he wants to actually go into when he is done with school at BYU-I. Pharmaceutical school has come up a few times now.

As you all know, not only did Valentines Day pass, but so did my BIRTHDAY!! Yes yes, I am officially 20 now, NOT a teenager anymore! Finally. Haha. It was a good day. It was a Sunday, so Jake and I woke up and layed in bed for a while. He gave me my birthday present (CONCERT TICKETS TO BRITNEY SPEARS and the PUSSYCAT DOLLS!!!!!!!!!) I am SO way excited to go to that!! I love Britney! Haha. I know, I know! But I do!!! The concert isn't actually until April, so I get to celebrate my birthday twice this year! WOOHOO!! After that we went to church, then just relaxed at home for a bit. We went over to his parents house and his mom had a cake for me and a present. It was cute. My new nieces and nephews came over, so I blew out my candles twice. Trey (Heathers son) had picked out a chocolate rose and some rings for me! It was cute. (He even gave one rose to JJ to give to me!) It was a good birthday!! :)

As for me now, I am just going to school, working the FEW hours my job gives me, and sitting at home trying to get some things organized. I get quite bored during the days though. I sell MaryKay now though, although my director is VERY pushy, and so I am not enjoying it that much! Oh well. I am looking for a new job because I get very few crappy hours at the restaurant I work at, and so I am kind of tired of that. But as you all know, job searching is NOT fun or easy! I babysit Trey and Tessa Monday and Wednesday nights (sometimes) so Heather can get some more hours there. Since she serves and I am just a host it is easier for her to get some than me, but still not easy! Tuesday and Thursday nights I go to Rexburg for my 2 hour Church History class. The teacher is HILARIOUS! He is a good family friend of Jakes family, so I have met him before, and knew he was funny, but in this class he really makes me laugh! And he keeps my attention so I actually learn things! Which is NOT easy when it comes to school/church. I am also taking an online class, which isn't too bad. The test taking just gives me some troubles! But next semester I am going to take some more classes and hopefully I won't take too long to get my schooling done with so I can just start teaching!!!

This last weekend Jake and I went to Utah with his parents. His cousin got married and so we were invited to go to the temple ceremony and everything. It was very nice. Although, and I don't mean this rudely, the guy doing the ceremony, when he was talking, he kept talking about death and funerals, and malaria! It was kinda creepy! But when he didn't talk about that stuff it was very good. I nudged Jake a few times to remind him that "I am number one now, not him!" Haha. It was way fun! It was nice to see a ceremony and actually know what is going on, instead of just wanting it to get over with so I could be married! Which I could tell his cousin felt the same way! I am glad we got to go!

Married

The Big Day . . .

Well it all came and went super fast! Jake came out Monday before the wedding, and then sooner than I thought I was through the temple and married! It was the most amazing thing ever! NOTHING that I expected, but still amazing! I was so happy! The reception was perfect, and I just had so much fun! (Thanks everyone that helped and attended!) My mom (and helpers) decorated it SO beautifully! The things that were going wrong, all ended up working out in the end perfectly! It was amazing! Jake looked EXTREMELY handsome too! I just loved every moment!
We left on our cruise Sunday morning (at 3am!) We got on our ship and unpacked, slept, and ate. Then the next week we at some more, slept TONS, and went on some fun excursions! (I will post pictures and tell more about it next time!) It was so much fun. The Cayman Islands were beautiful, as well as Cozumel, Belize, and Roatan Island in Honduras (which was actually my favorite). They had beautiful weather, beaches, and lands! I loved it! I wish I could go back (but for longer). It was so much fun! Even when we were on the ship we had a blast!

It is nice to be back on land though. We are in Jersey until Thursday, and then it is back home to Idaho to officially move in to our already moved in apartment! YAY! That will be nice. One more reception in Idaho and then it'll be all over. Then it is back to work and boring stuff. It still has not hit me yet that I am married. Even being able to go to bed at night with him at my parents house doesn't make it seem real enough! It is getting there though!!!
Sincerely,
Arli Nichole Olson
